Admissions
Registration
To apply for a place, please use the Gilah Registration Form.
Once you have registered your child, we will note their date of birth, together with the date of application, shul membership and whether siblings have attended. Your child cannot start until after their 2nd birthday, and the earliest start date is dependent on how full the nursery is at that time, so may not be until several weeks or months after he/she turns 2.
This will initially be for two or three mornings per week, progressing to five mornings when a space is available.
In the event of the nursery being oversubscribed, priority will be given to children of Borehamwood and Elstree Synagogue members and to those who have/have had siblings at Gilah. Date of application will also be taken into account.
Please read the Gilah Rules and Regulations.
Places for September 2008
Following our recent Ofsted inspection, we have been able to increase the number of children we can accomodate each day to 90. At the moment, we are waiting for our present pupils to be offered places in nurseries and reception classes in primary schools. This may not be until March or April. We will offer vacant places as soon as we are able. We acknowledge that this is not ideal, but until we know how many children will be leaving us in July, we cannot offer any more places.
Please do NOT telephone the Chair of the Board of Governors to enquire when you will hear if your child has a place. If you wish to contact the nursery, please use the contact information provided.
Fees
The fees are payable termly in advance. One Term's notice of intention to withdraw your child from the nursery is required after acceptance of a place in writing or a term's fees in lieu of notice will be payable. Fees must be paid even if your child is absent. For your child to keep his/her place at the nursery, you must pay the fees before the due date.
Fees are reviewed, and may increase, each September. Please note that higher fees are charged for the younger children as we require a greater staff:pupil ratio for this age group.
A deposit of £100 is required on acceptance of a place at Gilah Nursery School and will be set against the last term's fees.
From January 2008, fees are
- For 5 mornings: £875 per term. A substantial portion is covered by the Government's nursery grant scheme for children over 3 years old.
- Younger class:
- For 2 mornings: £42 per week.
- For 3 mornings: £59 per week.
- Lunch club for older children: £13.50 per session.
- Afternoon sessions for 2 year olds: £16.50 per session.
Families are levied a charge for the services of the security officer and are also required to participate in the security rota. Security fees are
- £80 per term for 5 mornings
- £48 per term for 3 mornings
- £32 per term for 2 mornings or 2 afternoons.
