Parents

There are many ways in which parents take part in the nursery, to make a warm and stimulating place for the children, such as

  • Exchange knowledge about their children’s needs, activities, interests and progress with the staff

  • Volunteering to help share their special interests with the children

  • Helping to provide, make and look after the equipment and materials used in the children’s play activities

  • Joining in the community activities in which the nursery takes part

  • Becoming part of the management of the nursery

  • Building friendships within the nursery.

Parents’ Committee

In recent years, the parents have raised thousands of pounds to provide an outside play area for the youngest children at Gilah and refurbish the outside area for the older children.

As well as fundraising, the Gilah Parents’ Committee now encompasses all typesof social and educational functions, under the chairmanship of Nicole Blech (committee@gilahnursery.com), together with parental representatives from all areas of the nursery. The Committee links to the governors through the parent governor.  If you would like to be involved in the Parents’ Committee, please e-mail committee@gilahnursery.com.

What Parents Are Saying

“All 3 of our children have thrived at Gilah Nursery. The staff teach with care and compassion, they genuinely care about each child’s development. The children have so much fun whilst they are learning about a variety of secular and Jewish topics. They go outside, they get messy, they sing and laugh and play all day! My youngest who is currently in the 4’s has built lovely friendships and has become ‘school ready’ all due to the teachers efforts, even in the midst of a pandemic! Thank you Gilah we will miss you x”

“My children are so happy and settled at Gilah. They are there for long hours and I don’t worry about them when I’m at work. It is such a nurturing and safe environment. I could not be happier!”

“We are delighted that we chose Gilah for both our children. The staff are so nurturing, the teaching interactive and hands on. The children feel valued and safe. Our girls enter and leave with a smile every day, what more could you ask for!!”

“We are extremely happy that we have sent our daughter to Gilah. She thoroughly enjoys her time there and the staff are very warm, welcoming and accommodating. It is a truly lovely setting”

“My daughter and I have never spent a day apart, so I think I was more nervous than I let on. The constant feedback and communication that I got put me completely at ease. As for my daughter, in the 3 months she has been at Gilah I have never seen her so happy and confident. Her speech, physical and social skills have come on leaps and bounds. She runs into nursery and sometimes has to be asked to say goodbye to me! All the staff, from teaching to admin have been more than helpful and have gone above my expectations. Thank you to all the staff for making my baby so happy!.”

“I have sent both my girls to Gilah and couldn’t ask for a more amazing nursery! The staff are warm and caring and the provision is excellent and both girls came out smiling every day! I couldn’t recommend Gilah more!”

“From the moment that children start at the setting, staff explore and understand their learning needs. This helps staff provide a responsive and exciting programme of activities and experiences” - Ofsted
